Re: Dim sum field trip??
Thu, February 5, 2004 - 4:59 PMUnless it was fairly early on a Sunday, I wouldn't be able to make it... I need to be in Emeryville by about 1 p.m. on Sundays. -

Re: Dim sum field trip??
Fri, February 6, 2004 - 3:19 PMoh yay!!! field trip!!! i think early(ish) - like 11-12 is usually a good idea for dim sum since its the freshest and least crowded. -

Re: Dim sum field trip??
Sun, February 8, 2004 - 10:42 AMhow about either yank sing- ( bart- able) or Ton Kiang- (Geary)
Yank Sing is better for the bart/muni folks! -

Re: Dim sum field trip??
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 10:19 AMI put forward the Jade Villa in Oakland. It is right near the Broadway and 12th Street BART station. Perhaps not for the 15th but definitely should be considered for future trips. -
-
Re: Dim sum field trip??
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 12:23 PMJade Villa is too greasy for me. I ate there alot for a while but decided not to go back after one particularly greasy day. Peony is my pick for the east bay. Sun. the 15th I may be going hiking, but I will completely support your need to dim sum regardless! -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 3:20 PM11:AM might be a little early for those of us that might be checking out of romantic hotels the day after Valentine's day....
: )
I'm for noon. -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 3:26 PMI agree. While dim sum is good for the champange hangover, waking up early is not.
And aren't there two Yank Sing locations? Which one? -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 4:25 PMok- noon and the one on battery
does this all work for everyone??? -
-
Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 5:14 PMDoesn't work for me (I have to be elsewhere at 1 on Sundays), but don't let that stop you. Besides, I had Yank Sing about a week ago. -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Wed, February 11, 2004 - 2:36 PMI can do Valentines weekend, but the week after that I am traveling on a show. But it sounds like post-VDay is better for everyone else. Maybe next time! -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Thu, March 4, 2004 - 8:24 AMDid anyone make the first one? I think it maybe fizzled. March is just not the month for me and weekend plans, too busy.
So I had to go to Canton yesterday for lunch. Mmm. But I would be totally down for an April field trip. -
-
Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Thu, March 4, 2004 - 11:54 AMthings usually fizzle when done by consensus (trying to take online to real life) Probably the more effective thing to do would be just pick a place and time, and whoever shows up great, whoever cannot, then maybe next time. Otherwise it usually ends up being all talk but never happend. At least on the tirbes I've seen...
I would take the initiative on this, but I can't remember the name of the dim sum place in Oakland that I went with my friend. -

Re: Dim sum field trip?? nail it down?
Thu, May 27, 2004 - 8:47 AMI think this is called an Event - perhaps using that mechanism will work better next time?
